The Folklore of Arrosta: San Antonio’s Favorite Italian Cafe
The story of the sisters begins on the winding streets of Italy’s scenic Amalfi Coast, just a short journey from Naples and Rome. Here, Allora and Arrosta channeled the spirit of their family’s recipes and made a plan to take their favorite Italian flavors to Texas. But, where was the best city to start? Austin…no…Houston…eh…ah, San Antonio, allora!
Arrosta set out to ignite a flame, pouring her fiery attitude into Italian seasoned rotisserie meats and adding a dash of bohemian charm to sweet baked goods and savory breads. Espresso or wine or beer? Why not serve all three at the counter of her all-day bar, where the bustle stops and lingering relaxation begins over Italian comfort foods. Gazing out at her happy guests gathering in her cafe and loggia reminds her of the lively tavola caldas in Rome.
Today, the sisters prepare dishes unlike any other Italian restaurant in San Antonio. You will find their spirit of adventure in their inventive Italian-inspired cuisine and a touch of home in their friendly service.
Experience a uniquely Texan take on satisfying Italian flavors.
